Growing up, I was fortunate enough to be sounded by so many different kinds of music. From ZZ Top, to Steely Dan, to The Beatles, to Smokey Robinson, afternoons spent listening to the big bands of the 40's with my nana's and nights of crooning along with Hank Williams as my papa slapped his knee. I couldn't get enough of it. I knew, from an early age, that my life was going to be shaped and made of music.
I came to NYC in the fall of 2007 when I began school at Pace University. I learned the ins and outs of this city and of the myriad of colors, sounds, sights and sometimes, smells, that make this metropolis the most exciting place in the world. The people I've met, the work I've done, the passion for music and theater and art propels me forward in a crazy world that often does everything it can to try and drive you crazy. I'm looking right at you MTA. At the end of the day, I stay for the dream and for the possibilities that those dreams will one day bring. Well, I stay for that and for my husband and corgi puppy who are the loves of my life.
And so, it is with a song in my heart, and most likely cookies or a cake in the oven, that I welcome you to my world. Please stay as long as you like, you are always welcome here.
