But join Ally and some truly incredible friends for an evening of music that will test the limits of gravity. From songs that make your heart lift off the ground, to those that keep you firmly rooted to the earth, prepare for a night of soaring vocals, stupidly heartwarming stories, and likely, wide-legged pants. Obie Award-winning playwright and songwriter Ethan Lipton and two-time Tony nominee director Leigh Silverman bring their irreverently funny new musical THE SEAT OF OUR PANTS to The Public this fall. A rollicking adaptation of Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning The Skin of Our Teeth, this new musical about age-old problems tells the twisting, often absurd story of the Antrobus family, who have been alive for 5,000 years but live in the same existential dread as the rest of us. Mired in the hot mess of their everyday worries, the Antrobuses survive all manner of catastrophes in an endless quest to begin again, and again, and again. Choreographed by Sunny Min-Sook Hitt, this bracingly original spectacle is a musical reminder that surviving is what we do best.
SUFFS
2024 was an incredible year! I made my Broadway debut in April at the Music Box Theater with SUFFS, reprising the role of Lucy Burns, which I originated during our Off-Browadway run at the Public Theater in the spring of 2022.
In December of 2024, PBS Great Performances came to film our incredible show and I know I speak for the whole Suffs fam when I say that we cannot wait to share what we've built and loved on for so long with the world at large. Stay tuned for information about when, where, and how to watch the live capture.
